Spinning City – A Floating, Self-Sustaining Urban Future

A futuristic city designed to adapt to rising sea levels while maintaining essential urban functions.

The Challenge: Cities Are Losing Land to Rising Sea Levels

Current greenhouse gas emissions will cause sea levels to rise by 5ft (1.5m) within 80 years.
As a result,🌊 Many Coastal cities will experience flooding, housing shortages, and infrastructure failures.
With limited land for expansion, cities 🏙️need new solutions for sustainable urban living.

The Solution: A Floating City That Adapts

Spinning City is a modular, floating urban system designed to address land scarcity and rising sea levels:

  • 🌍 Expands urban space where land is limited.

  • 🔄 Rotates to optimize transportation, enabling seamless movement of people and goods.

  • ☀️ Generates renewable energy through solar panels.

  • 💧 Provides desalinated water for sustainable drinking supply.

  • 🌱 Grows food locally, reducing reliance on external resources.

  • 🏙️ Ensures a resilient, self-sustaining urban ecosystem.

The Design: How Spinning City Functions

Spinning City is structured into three interconnected layers, each serving a key function:

  • 🏠 Core Circle – Houses essential services like hospitals, schools, and libraries 📚.

  • 🏬 Commercial Circle – Includes shopping malls, restaurants, and entertainment venues 🍽️.

  • 🏙 Residential Circle – Provides housing and living spaces, connected by bridges for easy access.

♻️ Sustainability Features:

  • ☀️ Solar panels generate clean energy.

  • 💧 Underwater pumps provide desalinated drinking water.

  • 🚁 Drones deliver food and supplies to maintain self-sufficiency.

  • ⚙️ Underwater jet propulsion allows the city to move and adapt to rising sea levels.
